Cold and dark and moody out this morning. Trying out the Nikon D5300 for these photos… need to figure out the manual mode for better results, but I like these anyway taken in full auto with flash turned off.
Winter is on the way…
Cold out this morning, down into the 30’s F. No snow on the mountain but I bet we get some in the next week. All the leaves are falling. A few trees holding on to them though.
This tree is stunning with the mountains in the background.
A walk in the dark
First walk with a headlamp for the fall season. Plus there was a power outage in half of the neighborhood (?) so it was extra dark… and spooky! :)
Spooky
It’s so dark when I start my walks now…
Last bits of fall color
Rain is coming so most of these leaves will probably be gone in a week. Also, I just love these tree Autumn Blaze maples in my backyard. So gorgeous in the fall.
Another Gorgeous Fall Morning
The forecast calls for a few more days of nice weather and then a week of rain. I’m ok with that as I love rainy days too!
Misty October Morning
Fall is in full effect.
Up Before Sunrise
Only because sunrise is after 7:00 am…
Last Bit Of Summer
After a few days of clouds and rain the sun is out and the temperature is rising.
Clouds and Mist
Mist over the mountains this morning. Cool breeze. Low hanging clouds. Feels like fall.
Sunny Sunrise
The sun was out for a few hours this morning before the clouds rolled in.
Mid-September Autumn Vibes
Early sunsets and late sunrises make for moody days in September.
And the slugs were out
The temperature dipped
The clouds rolled in
The rain came
The mist clung low to the mountains
And the slugs were out
The leaves turned and fell
Covering the paths
And sidewalks
And lawns
And the slugs were out
The smell of decay
The shortening of the day
The slowing of life
Preparing for a winter’s slumber
And the slugs were out
Early September Autumn Vibes
The crisp morning air. The sunlit fog. I just love this time of year!
Changes at Tollgate
I haven’t been walking as much the past couple months and so of course things have been changing at the park. The big change is the bulldozing of the field. For what purpose I have no idea.
And the leaves are starting to fall (already?)
And local flora and fauna
Can you see the snake above?
Here’s the view from the top of the new connecting trail from Tollgate to The Snoqualmie Trail.
And tomorrow is our last day before leaving for Vietnam and Japan!
